IWGP United States Title Tournament Semifinals Set

Sunday night will see New Japan Pro Wrestling crown its first ever United States Champion, and the tournament semifinals are now set.

Tomohiro Ishii scored an upset victory Saturday night at the G1 Special over the heavily favored former IWGP Heavyweight Champion in Tetsuya Naito. Ishii will go on to take on Zack Sabre Jr, who was able to submit a WWE NXT veteran in Juice Robinson in the quarterfinal round of the tourney.

Former Ring Of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal overcame a nasty rib injury to beat Bullet Club's Adam "Hangman" Page. Lethal was attacked after his win over SIlas Young at ROH Best in the World, which left him hampered. He'll take on the red-hot Kenny Omega, who beat Michael Elgin Saturday night.
