The date has been set for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship reveal.
NJPW announced fans will get their glimpse at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on March 30 during Road to Sakura Genesis at Korakuen Hall. Kota Ibushi will receive the title as he is the reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion and IWGP Intercontinental Champion.
Ibushi became the first IWGP World Heavyweight Champion when he defeated El Desperado at the 49th Anniversary event. When Kota Ibushi won both titles at Wrestle Kingdom 15, his goal was to combine the titles into one. He got his wish following NJPW Castle Attack when it was announced the two titles would merge to create the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.
Ibushi will make his first defense of the title on April 4 against Will Ospreay.

At Sakura Genesis on April 4, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi will defend his brand new title for the very first time against Will Ospreay in our main event.
