IYO SKY Hasn’t Named Her Emote, Reveals The Trash Can Spots Were Her Crazy Ideas
IYO SKY talks to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp ahead of WWE Wrestlepalooza.
IYO SKY is looking to regain the WWE Women’s World Championship when she takes on Stephanie Vaquer and a match for the vacant championship at the inaugural WWE Wrestlepalooza. Ahead of the event, “The Genius of the Sky” spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.
IYO SKY discussed several topics, including her former Damage CTRL stablemates, Asuka and Kairi Sane, and their recent tense moments on WWE TV. SKY explained that she understands where Asuka is coming from because she wants them all to be champions again.
“So yeah, I understand Asuka’s personality. She really wants me to become a champion, which totally makes sense, because we are always talking about becoming a champion again. We have to become champions again. So that is super exciting, but I told her I can do it by myself. Also, we’ve known each other for a long time. We have a long history, and I understand her personality. I think she won’t come tomorrow. I hope so. I trust her, and she trusts me, I think so.”
As for Kairi Sane, IYO SKY noted that she feels bad for her Sky Pirate teammate for being caught in the middle of the tension between her and Asuka. However, sometimes families fight, and in the end, they will get together and be okay.
Lately, SKY has reached a new level of popularity with her taunt, where she points at herself. Fans who attend WWE events look forward to seeing it, and even Rhea Ripley has gotten in on the fun. SKY informed Fightful that she hasn’t named the taunt yet.
“No [there’s no name.] That’s a good question. Yeah, I’m just pointing at myself, but you can make something,” she said. “I’m so happy because I’m pointing at myself. I’m so happy, and behind me, like the crowd does it with me. That makes me so happy.”
With WWE Survivor Series: WarGames on the horizon, Sean Ross Sapp asked IYO SKY about her tradition of jumping off the cage with a trash can over her body. When he asked who came up with the idea, she said, “Me. Because I’m crazy, maybe.”
