IYO SKY discusses her WrestleMania 41 WWE Women’s World Title victory.

At WrestleMania 41 the WWE Women’s World Title was on the line at the event in Las Vegas in a triple threat match featuring IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. Despite being the champion going into the bout, fans still saw SKY as the underdog in the bout alongside Ripley and Belair. However, in a shock result for many, SKY would retain her title and walk out of the event as champion.

While speaking in a new interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, IYO was asked about her victory at WrestleMania 41, noting that it meant so much to her as well as Japanese people as well.

“It meant so much to me, of course, also so much to Japanese people as well. Because for a long time Japanese wrestlers didn’t win at WrestleMania, even for women’s wrestling, Japanese wrestler, first time ever in WWE to win at WrestleMania. So I’m so honored, and even kind of unexpected. I walk in as a champion, walk out as a champion.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, SKY said her win was the greatest moment of her life. You can read more about that here.
