Izzi Dame Def. Thea Hail To Become NXT Women’s North American Champion At New Year’s Evil

Hail’s title reign comes to an end.

Advertised for NXT’s New Year’s Evil special on The CW was an NXT Women’s North American Title defense that would see Thea Hail defend against Blake Monroe.

As Hail was making her entrance, Monroe attacked her. The match did not get underway, and Hail was helped to the trainer’s room. NXT General Manager Ava caught up with Monroe and kicked her out of the building.

The injured Hail insisted that she wanted to get Monroe back in the building so they could have their title match, but Ava already kicked her out. Hail then suggested the idea of an open challenge, and that was sanctioned.

Come match time, a handful of talents made their way to the ring, and joining the mix was Tatum Paxley, who had a chainsaw in hand to clear a path to the ring. Paxley was beaten to the punch by her rival, Izzi Dame, who Paxley defeated in the opener of New Year’s Evil in a singles match.

The Culling’s Shawn Spears and Niko Vance stormed ringside alongside Dame to get a referee in the ring to get the match started for Dame.

Dame would go on to defeat Hail for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Hail’s title reign lasted 22 days.
