Jack Perry Gets Mixed Reaction In Chicago, Makes Multiple References To CM Punk And AEW All In Incident

Jack Perry isn't well liked in Chicago.

Jack Perry entered Chicago as a hated man, and he soaked it all in. Two days after AEW aired backstage footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry getting into an altercation at AEW All In, which resulted in Punk being fired from AEW with cause, Perry competed at NJPW Windy City Riot in Punk's hometown of Chicago against Shota Umino.

"CM Punk" chants started before the match as Perry was flanked by a riot squad for his entrance. Perry donned a Chicago flag and dropped it to reveal a "Cry Me A River" jacket.

Perry flipped off the crowd once in the ring as the boos continued to rain down, though some of the crowd was on his side.

During the match, the crowd chanted "You got choked out" and "No he didn't," which prompted Perry to put Umino in a guillotine choke. The crowd also chanted, "ohhh, cry me a river" at Perry.

Perry mocked Punk, using the GTS taunt and going for the GTS, but Umino countered.

In the end, Umino won and Perry shook his hand after the match.

Perry was suspended for his role in the altercation with Punk and has not been on AEW TV since the incident. He showed up at NJPW Battle in the Valley, ripped up his AEW contract, and referred to himself as the "Scapegoat."
