Jacob Fatu Says Paul Heyman Made Phone Call To Bring Him To WWE TV, William Regal Would Always Text Throughout The Years

Jacob Fatu made his WWE debut in June 2024, starting a new era of the Bloodline after Roman Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Fatu made his name on the independents as one of the top names on the scene.
Speaking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Fatu detailed his WWE signing.
“It was a ride. Before I signed, that was really the grind. Four or five months before I actually popped up on TV, a lot of people thought I was out of my contract with MLW in 2025. I was done in 2024, but I kept it low. I never asked my cousins for a handout. They knew what I was doing. I just played my role and always had faith and believed in God. The process, once everything came about, shoutout to WWE. Shoutout to Triple H for giving me a chance. Shoutout to the legal team. Shoutout to the people that made this happen for me to get here, legally. WWE blessed me. Took care of everything. They took a chance on me. It was just mind-blowing. I never asked my cousins for a handout because they were doing Bloodline, the hottest thing. How could I ask them for something when they’re so busy? They had house shows at that time so they’re on the road and they were on everything. It was more motivating for me, watching them because I’m a fan of my brothers. I love them and am such a fan of their work. I felt what they were doing as a fan. It was motivating for me. Not only that, but because they were hot, I always had a job on the independents. They helped me save up. What they were doing here, on the independents, ‘We can’t get them, but we can get the closest thing. Jacob Fatu.’ It wasn’t no character. This is just us turnt up,” he said.
Fatu mentioned his stint in jail when he was 18 before shouting out Triple H and the legal team.
Fatu recalled seeing Solo Sikoa bring in Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga, wondering if and when he would debut.
“I didn’t know I was coming. I literally just got a call, ‘What do you need? What can we do?'” he recalled.
Asked who made the phone call, Jacob said, “It was from Paul Heyman. Mr. William Regal text me throughout the years, ‘Let us know what’s going on.’ Mr. Heyman has always been tapped in.”
Jacob Fatu is set to challenge Sikoa for the WWE United States Title in a cage match at WWE SummerSlam.
