Jacob Fatu Says Recent Hiatus Probably Cost Him A Lot Of Opportunities

Jacob Fatu was attacked backstage on an October episode of WWE SmackDown, putting him out of action until his return in January.
Fatu immediately inserted himself into the title picture, interfering in the Undisputed WWE Title bout between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, inadvertently helping McIntyre.
Though he’s returned to a high profile spot on SmackDown, Fatu admitted to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports that the absence may have cost him some opportunities.
“I probably missed out on a lot of opportunities, but it is what it is. They say in this business, ‘Things happen, and the show must go on.’ I missed out, but what was I going to do? I couldn’t sit there and dwell. No, none of that,” he said. “It’s where I’m supposed to be. It’s the best fit right now. I’m not with regular people. These are not regular people. These are names that have done huge things in WWE. Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. It’s not overwhelming, but there’s a fan side of me sometimes, a little bit, that feels like, ‘Damn, I’m really here. Tapping in with them.’ It’ll be a good outlet.”
Fatu is set to face McIntyre in an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42.
Both McIntyre and Fatu will be on Friday’s SmackDown.
