Jakara Jackson was one of a handful of talents released by WWE on May 2nd.
Jackson was a regular part of NXT programming, teaming with Lash Legend. She was on April 29th episode of NXT in a segment where Meta-Four (Jackson, Legend, Noam Dar & Oro Mensah) decided to go their separate ways. Jackson & Legend had also been doing appearances on TNA iMPACT! as part of the WWE and TNA partnership.
Speaking on the Stardom Cast with Rob & Matt, Jackson was asked about her WWE release.
"There are always different stories for everyone. We all know releases come about every so often. I remember early on, I had a feel. This was years ago. Sometimes you're like, 'Oh my Gosh,' and you feel a little iffy. This time, absolutely not. We were on a roll. We had been busy ever since Saudi Arabia. We got the TNA opportunity. As soon as we landed, took a nap, woke up, and we saw what the deal was. You just turn your head because you never know, with anything. Absolutely, not I had no clue at all. It was the worst way to find out because it was supposed to be a happy moment and a happy Friday night. I felt the feel in the moment when I needed to and took care of myself. The show must go on," she said.
Jackson noted she was going to a birthday party for her niece when she learned of her release.
Jackson has since rebranded as Mara Sade.
