Jake Hager Says He Broke A Fans Phone Jumping Into The Crowd At WrestleMania 27 To Avoid Stone Cold Steve Austin’s ATV
Jake Hager reflects on a spot at WrestleMania 27.

Jake Hager went to extreme lengths to avoid Austin’s ATV at WrestleMania 27.
At the pay-per-view back in 2011, Hager, then wrestling under the name Jack Swagger in WWE, would serve as Michael Cole’s trainer for his bout with Jerry Lawler at the event. However, things went awry for Hager from the get go as in the midst of his entrance, Stone Cold would begin his with his signature glass shatter. As Austin made his way to the ring on an ATV as special guest referee for the match between the announcers, Hager was forced to dive out of the way.
While speaking to Insight with Chris Van Vliet in a new interview, Hager reflected on the moment, noting that he actually ended up breaking a fans phone by accident diving out of the way of Austin’s ATV.
“He drove the four wheeler down the ramp. That was his big entrance, and like, I waited until the last minute to dive out of the way. Like he almost hit me. It was awesome. Like I like dove into some crowd. I broke some fan’s phone. I knocked it out of their hand and it fell and hit the ground. Like I like jumped on the barricade, but like half of my body went into the crowd.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Hager spoke about an incident in AEW where Tony Khan would storm into an all talent meeting. You can read more about that here.
