Jake Hager Wishes AEW Would Use Daddy Magic More, ‘He Can Be A Jesse Ventura-Type On Commentary’

“Daddy Magic” Matt Menard has become a utility player for AEW, filling roles on commentary, in the ring, and as a manager.
Menard started to break out in AEW as a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society where he worked with Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Daniel Garcia, and his 2point0 tag team partner “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker.
Speaking to Rip Rogers, Hager offered praise for Menard.
“Daddy Magic. The greatest pro wrestling name ever. He’s good on commentary. I wish they would use him more. I think he could be like a Jesse ‘The Body’ type on commentary,” said Hager.
Menard has been aligned with Garcia on AEW TV, though Garcia had a change of heart at AEW Dynamite, attacking Darby Allin and joining Jon Moxley in the Death Riders.
Hager left AEW in 2024 and has since retired from wrestling.
