Jamie Hayter: There’s Some Inherent Misogyny In Wrestling As A Whole

Jamie Hayter speaks on women’s wresters proving themselves while noting there is some ‘inherent misogyny’ when it comes to the industry.

Hayter has been a staple of All Elite Wrestling over the course of the past several years, and has captured the AEW Women’s World Championship while being one of the countries top stars from the UK. Now, she is heading into AEW All In as a title challenger alongside fellow Brit Alex Windsor, as they will challenge for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles.

While speaking to the BBC in a new interview, Jamie Hayter spoke about how women’s wrestlers have proved themselves, while also noting that there is some inherent misogyny in the world of professional wrestling.

“Women in wrestling have proven themselves – we can do great matches, good promos and make you want to see a match. There’s some inherent misogyny in wrestling as a whole, and women wrestlers for years would always get common tropes. But there are lots of different flavours of women’s wrestling, and we can tap into that more. I think I’m someone that just rolls with the punches. Whatever comes next I’ll go full force with it.”
