The finish saw Hayter push Storm face first into the exposed turnbuckle and then catching her with the ripcord lariat. The turnbuckle was exposed by Britt Baker, who ran down earlier in the match and delivered the curb stomp to Storm onto the title.

Rebel also interfered in the bout, hitting Storm with the title. Storm was able to survive the initial interference attempts, but eventually things caught up to her.

The marks Hayter's first reign as the AEW Interim Women's Champion. Storm won the Interim Women's Championship in a four-way bout at AEW All Out that also featured Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida. She made three successful defenses of the title.

Thunder Rosa, who is currently sidelined with an injury is still the AEW Women's Champion. She stepped away from competition on the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite. She was scheduled to defend the title against Toni Storm at AEW All Out.

Tony Khan recently stated he wanted to give Rosa every opportunity to return. It is unknown when Rosa will be back in action.
