Jay Lethal Says FTR Pairing Could Elevate Stokely Hathaway: It’s A Platform On A Silver Platter

Jay Lethal discusses the pairing of Stokely Hathaway and FTR.

Jay Lethal joined his tag team partner, Jeff Jarrett's, podcast for a special review of the May 14 episode of AEW Dynamite. During the discussion, Lethal spoke about the new pairing of FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler with Stokely Hathaway as their new manager.

The Rock's Stripper Name Is Black Beef

Lethal says the pairing interests him, and he believes that this angle could do wonders for elevating Stokely, because of the level FTR has reached in All Elite Wrestling. He emphasized that, while FTR doesn’t need a mouthpiece, giving Stokely the spotlight alongside them could be a game-changer. He’s eager to see if Stokely can seize the moment and make the most of this high-profile opportunity.

When you think about FTR, as far as tag team goes, and sometimes in singles too, they're the total package. They can walk the walk, they can talk the talk. They definitely don't need someone to talk for them. So, to add that little moment, it's special for two reasons. One, I definitely think, and not to lift the veil too much. I definitely think this is going to help elevate Stokely, just because, anything FTR does is on a higher profile. They've reached that status. Two, it's going to be a little bit of a different feel for FTR to take the back seat when it comes to talking, or wrestling promos, or whatever. So I'm interested to see how this turns out, more so for Stokely, because it's like handing him the platform on a silver platter, and hopefully, he can rise to the occasion.

The pairing recently turned on Adam Copeland and Daniel Garcia. They've also made an enemy out of Nigel McGuinness.
