JBL Hit Shane McMahon With A Clothesline So Stiff That Ron Simmons Saw It And Said 'We're Fired'

John Bradshaw Layfield once waylaid Shane McMahon with a clothesline so stiff that Ron Simmons was ready to question the job security of the APA.

During the most recent Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL was asked about some of the stiffest Clotheslines From Hell he ever threw. Believes that The Godfather and Shane McMahon were recipients of two of the stiffest ones, mainly because both men asked him to hit them as hard as he could.

JBL says that once Ron Simmons, his APA tag team partner, saw the Lariat he threw at McMahon, he joked that they were fired.

"Godfather did, no doubt about it. At WrestleMania, The Godfather got the stiffest clothesline I think I've ever thrown, he told me. He said, 'If you don't hit me with the hardest clothesline you've ever hit, I'm mad at you.' He said,' I want the best clothesline you've ever thrown in the history of your life. I hit him with one, and I damn near knocked myself out.

"Now I hit Shane McMahon with one at, I think, SummerSlam one year, and same thing. Shane goes, 'You've got to hit me. I'm the boss's son. You've got to hit me harder than everybody else.' Shane wanted it that way. I hit Shane McMahon so hard with that clothesline that when Ron saw it, he goes, 'We're fired.'"

On the flip side, JBL says that Undertaker's Last Ride was the most painful finisher he'd ever taken. Read his comments here.
