JBL: I’d Love To See Sheamus Come To AAA. There Are Some Storylines Down There That’d Be Fantastic
JBL wants to see Sheamus in AAA.
A few days back, on July 5, Fightful Select reported about Sheamus’ departure. He had been part of WWE for nearly 20 years.
Speaking on Something to Wrestle With, JBL was asked to share his thoughts on Sheamus leaving WWE.
“I think it’s a shame. Life happens. Shit happens, and you get done. You get older, and you get done. Sheamus has had an incredible career. He didn’t have a bad match that I saw. I thought it was just fantastic what he did. … As you get older, his career is kind of winded down at the WWE. I don’t know if he’s staying or going somewhere else. I think he should go somewhere else. I mean, he’ll be rejuvenated. You know, this is why something like AAA is great. He could go down there if he wanted to. That’s still part of WWE, I understand that. He may want to go outside the tent completely and go to AEW, go to Japan, or go somewhere else. If he does, I think he’ll be fantastic. I think it’ll be kind of rejuvenated. Anytime you’re in the same territory for a very long time, which is what he’s done, you have to go through a bunch of rejuvenation phases. This is the perfect opportunity for him.”
Conrad said that he wants to see Sheamus do a completely different character. JBL agreed with him and said the following:
“Look, he’s a smart guy. You look at what he does on social media and all the stuff that he does. I mean, he’s a very smart guy. He’ll be able to handle a completely different character. He’s been a great character for a very long time. Now, I think he’s got the opportunity to change it completely. Now it’s just a complete blank slate. I’d love to see him come down to AAA. I think there’s some storylines down there that’d be fantastic. But if he goes to Japan, if he goes to AEW, TNA, wherever he goes, there’s going to be a lot of storylines that people never thought would happen with this great legend and some new young star. I think it’s going to be great what he does. Whatever it is he does, it’s going to be a rejuvenation, and I think it’s going to be fantastic.”
