JBL On Eddie Guerrero: The World Was Robbed When Eddie Died, He Had So Much Left

John Bradshaw Layfield’s first main event feud in WWE was with Eddie Guerrero. He would eventually defeat Eddie Guerrero for his one and only WWE Championship run in 2004.

Behind the scenes, Bradshaw and Guerrero were close friends. Recently, WWE acquired Lucha Libre AAA, a Mexican promotion where Eddie Guerrero spent part of his early years developing his skills. JBL is now doing commentary for AAA events, and he believes that he and Guerrero would have had a great time competing together if Eddie were still alive today.

Speaking on the latest Something to Wrestle podcast, Bradshaw said that he regrets his friend is not around to see the growth of AAA and WWE, and believes the world was robbed, as Eddie had many good years left.

“What fun that would be with Eddie and AAA. That would be unbelievable. I don’t really have regrets, but I regret that Eddie’s not here because I’d love for Eddie to be around, to talk to him, because he was such a wonderful human being and such a fun person to be around, for him to be around that, and be out there at AAA and doing some stuff here or there, that would be absolutely magical. The world was robbed, when Eddie died, of a lot of years of really great top-flight entertainment, because Eddie still had so much left in him.”
