JBL Wishes R-Truth Could Beat John Cena For Undisputed WWE Title, 'Cena Likes Truth, Everybody Does'

JBL wishes he could see R-Truth win the Undisputed WWE Championship from John Cena.

R-Truth is getting a major spotlight as he faces John Cena at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Tampa on May 24. While the match is not for the WWE Championship, he still gets the honor of being one of Cena's final opponents as Cena prepares to retire this December.

Recently, during a Q&A episode of Something to Wrestle, JBL previewed the match. Although it is a non-title match, he spoke about it as though it were for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Bradshaw said that while there was no chance of Truth winning the WWE Title from Cena, he wished he could see it. He also spoke about how beloved Truth is behind the scenes.

"No, no. I wish he was [winning the WWE Title]. I love Ron. I'm the biggest R-Truth fan in the world. Me and Ron — I had to pull him aside one time. I said, 'Hey, you know that song you have where you said something about 'you're the best young brother' or something? You're a brother, you ain't young no more.' So, he changed the lyric. He literally did. I love Truth. This is going to be a lot of fun. I have a feeling that's going to be a great match. Cena likes truth, as everybody does. I think this may steal the show, it may be so entertaining."
