Jeff Cobb Wanted To Do Bloodsport In 2019, ROH Was Worried He'd Get Hurt

Jeff Cobb is set to make his Bloodsport debut on Saturday, February 13 when he takes on Chris Dickinson.

Cobb has an amateur wrestling background and always seemed like a perfect fit for the hybrid wrestling and MMA promotion, but the timing never worked out for Cobb until now.

Speaking on the RRBG podcast, Cobb revealed that he wanted to take part of Josh Barnett's Bloodsport in 2019, but his ROH contract wouldn't quite allow him.

"I've always wanted to do it, but the schedules never really lined up. I was trying so hard, it was a last-minute decision for the one in New York for WrestleMania weekend. I was trying hard to get on that, but at the time I was under contract with Ring of Honor and they were iffy about it because we had a big show at Madison Square Garden. They were worried if I got hurt [at Bloodsport] that I couldn't make the Garden. I understood where they were coming from. I went and supported. It was a great show. I was up on the balcony watching and every match I was like, 'that should've been me, could've been me,' but good things come to those who wait. Lo and behold, I'm finally here," he said.

Cobb wrestled Will Ospreay at NJPW-ROH G1 Supercard in an ROH Television Champion vs. NEVER Openweight Champion bout. Cobb was victorious in the matchup.

Fightful will have full results from Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 4 following the conclusion of the event on Saturday.
