Jeff Cobb Was Disappointed And Upset ROH World Title Match With Matt Taven Got Cut For Time

Jeff Cobb ran through the competition in ROH for the first part of 2019, earning himself an ROH Title match against Matt Taven at ROH Best In The World 2019.

Unfortunately, the match didn't live up to the hype, and Cobb's undefeated streak ended in less than ten minutes against Taven, leaving many fans disappointed.

Appearing on ROHStrong, Cobb reflected on the bout and his disappointment that it was cut for time.

"It was very disappointing. I'm not gonna sit here and put the blame on anybody and say 'this person went over time' or whatever. I was disappointed and upset because at the end of the day, whoever has the championship, should have the time. There would never be a time where it's like, 'Hey, Hulk Hogan, we were going to give you 20 minutes, but we'll give you six.' There's no way that happens with Hogan, Rock, or Austin. I had an undefeated streak. Matt Taven was the champion. People wanted to see something. It was the first time we had wrestled and I wanted to make it a really good match. Unfortunately, things didn't go our way. It definitely wasn't my best match to date. I'm sure Taven would say the same thing. I was hoping we would get a chance to do it again. I assume we'll cross paths down the road," said Cobb.

Cobb didn't elaborate on which match or segment went over, but the ROH World Title match ended up being the second shortest match on the show.
