Jeff Hardy Says WWE Return Was 'Inevitable'

A perfect storm brought Matt and Jeff Hardy back to WWE, according to Jeff Hardy.

Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt Hardy returned to WWE at Wrestlemania 33. The two had been out of WWE for years. During an episode of Talk is Jericho, Jeff Hardy mentioned he had been gone from the company since 2009. He was asked to explain his mindset on his way back to WWE. Hardy said he always knew he and his brother would be back.

"It was one of those things that are inevitable. I think when I did JR's podcast live at the House of Blues a couple Wrestlecons ago, that was the big question 'Are you ever going to return?'. I was like 'it's inevitable, I'm not sure how it's going to come about' but I always knew it deep down. I know what that extended family means. I remember back in the day they were like 'we want you to be a part of the extended family.' It was inevitable and meant to be. How it all happened was the perfect storm," said Hardy.

Also on the podcast was Dean Ambrose, he and host Chris Jericho said they had no idea about The Hardys coming back to WWE. Jericho said he had heard rumors. Hardy told the two about how he and his brothers made their surprise return. He called the move "smooth" and said he and his brother were at an autograph signing for five hours before secretly leaving for Wrestlemania 33.

Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt Hardy defend their Raw tag-team championships on Sunday at WWE Extreme Rules in a steel cage. Fightful Wrestling will be providing full live coverage and a post-show podcast.
