Jeff Hardy Says Yokozuna’s Banzai Drop Was The Most Painful Finishing Move He’s Ever Taken

Jeff Hardy says it was tough taking a Banzai Drop from Yokozuna.

Jeff Hardy was doing enhancement matches for WWE before he was even legally an adult. Doctored paperwork aside, Hardy was able to make an impression in those early days against the likes of Razor Ramon, X-Pac, Road Dogg, and Owen Hart. After a match with Owen Hart on the December 11, 1995 episode of WWE Raw, he would be on the receiving end of a Banzai Drop from Yokozuna, Owen Hart's tag team partner at the time.

During an interview with Robbie Fox on My Mom's Basement, Hardy would declare that Yoko's finish is the most painful he's ever taken.

"Without a doubt, Yokozuna's Banzai Splash. When he took his hands off the ropes, man. I was like 17 and it was incredibly -- after he let go of the ropes, the weight, oh my God, it was wild."

Jeff Hardy would go on to make a career out of putting himself in dangerous situations. Nearly 30 years later, he's still wrestling and tag-teaming with his brother. They will soon compete in another Ladder Match at TNA Slammiversary. Learn more about that here.
