Jeff Jarrett comments on recent reports that excessive blood would no longer be permitted in TNA Wrestling matches.
Jeff Jarrett is the founder of TNA Wrestling. While that was over 20 years ago, TNA Wrestling prided itself on being a wrestling-first alternative to WWE. Much has changed in the last two decades. The promotion now has a working relationship with WWE, and it was recently reported that bleeding and intentional heavy bloodletting are things of the past in TNA.
Jeff Jarrett, now working for AEW, commented on the ruling reported during the latest My World podcast episode. Jarrett admitted that he believes excessive bloodletting is a thing of the past as well and now says he doesn't even think that worked in the past.
"I think that is where the industry is at, with or without advertisers. The first thing that I thought would be okay, the WWE-TNA relationship just got taken to another level, if you will. I know they've got some new executive management there. Are they cleaning up for WWE? Are they cleaning it up for potential advertisers? Are they cleaning it up for shopping to try to get the best television deal? Regardless, I think it's a positive move in that, gratuitous blood, I don't think 30 years ago worked, so I certainly don't think it works today."
