Jeff Teague: Jeff Hardy And Rey Mysterio Are Urban Legends

Jeff Teague has high praise for Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio.
In September 2024, Sports Illustrated made headlines by ranking the 20 greatest wrestlers in WWE history. This list is as follows:
20. Becky Lynch
19. Mick Foley
18. Chris Jericho
17. CM Punk
16. Andre The Giant
15. Randy Orton
14. Edge
13. Roddy Piper
12. Kurt Angle
11. Randy Savage
10. Bruno Sammartino
9. Bret Hart
8. Shawn Michaels
7. Triple H
6. The Undertaker
5. Roman Reigns
4. John Cena
3. The Rock
2. Hulk Hogan
1. Steve Austin
The outlet was criticized for leaving off names like Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, and Eddie Guerrero.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Club 520 Podcast, former NBA player Jeff Teague reacted to Hardy and Mysterio missing the list.
“Jeff Hardy, them all like urban legends. They all in the urban community’s top 20. Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy, we as black people, we rock with them. They on our top 20. As far as the wrestling community, nah. You gonna have some names like Roddy Piper — I like Roddy Piper, he wasn’t one of my favorite wrestlers though. Everybody not gonna have the people we love in the top 20.”
Rey Mysterio is currently out of action due to injury. On the other hand, Jeff Hardy has had a very successful year in TNA Wrestling, spending a good chunk of the year as one half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions with his brother Matt Hardy.
Speaking of TNA, Grado recently revealed that Madonna turned down his request to use ‘Like A Prayer’ when he was with the company. Check out his full comments here.
