Jelly Roll Says It Was At WWE SummerSlam 2024 When He Knew He Had To Lose Weight, Felt It Would Kill Him If He Didn’t Make A Change

It was at the P.L.E. that Jelly Roll decided to make a change.

There was a portion of season two of WWE: Unreal on Netflix that focused on musician Jelly Roll’s venture into WWE.

He looked back at his involvement with the 2024 SummerSlam Premium Live Event, where he had a segment with R-Truth, The Miz, and the duo then known as A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller).

Jelly Roll said it was in those moments that he realized he needed to lose weight, and if he didn’t, it would cost him his life. He swore to himself that he’d be in much better shape by the time SummerSlam 2025 rolled around.

“SummerSlam 2024, when I’m getting up from doing the Five Knuckle Shuffle, I’m hanging onto a rope and R-Truth’s got one arm and Miz has got another arm and at that moment I realized, I was so big that it took two grown men to get me to stand up. I knew that if I didn’t do something, it was going to kill me, and I just remember leaving there and being like, ‘I will be back next summer a different f*cking human.'”

Jelly Roll made his WWE in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2025. He teamed with Randy Orton, and they fell in defeat to Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.

Jelly Roll shared in past media appearances that he pitched to lose that match.
