Jerry Lawler And Rikishi Defeat Steiner Brothers For Grind City Tag Titles At Memphis Grizzlies Game

Jerry Lawler and Rikishi are now the Grind City Tag Team Champions.

The Memphis Grizzlies hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves last night and during the halftime show, WWE Hall Of Famers Jerry "The King" Lawler and Rikishi captured the 'Grind City' Tag Team Championships. Lawler and Rikishi defeated former two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott) and in the corner of Rikishi and Lawler was Buff Bagwell.

Jerry Lawler also paid homage to his late son, Brian Christopher Lawler who was known as "Grandmaster Sexay". Lawler sported Brian Christopher's vest, danced with Rikishi and used the nickname "Grandmaster Sexay" for the night as he won the 170th title of his career.

 

The latest update on the passing of Brian Christopher Lawler was covered by 'The Commercial Appeal' which noted that Jerry Lawler's lawyer is investigating Brian Christopher's death. Rikishi was also in headlines recently when he stated during an interview that he will be proud of The Usos for whatever they choose to do after their WWE contracts expire after WrestleMania 35.
