Jerry Lawler Thinks Smackdown Television Deal Will Make WWE Work Harder

Jerry Lawler says Vince McMahon won't rest on his laurels.

Last week, there were reports that the television rights of Smackdown were sold to Fox for one billion dollars over a five year deal. On an episode of his podcast Dinner with The King, Jerry Lawler was asked if the large sum of money will motivate the people of WWE or will the money cause a relaxed approach.

"I know this for a fact: it will make Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H...It will make all of those people work harder and they in turn will make the writers work harder and everybody that's in the company will work harder. They are not people that will rest on their laurels. They are not anybody who will ever say 'Hey you know what? we've got everything going smooth, everything's going good. Let's sit back and let it run it's course' That's not the mind set of the people that run WWE,"  said Lawler.

Smackdown moving to Fox is reportedly happening in October of 2019 and it has been reported the show will be on Fridays instead of Tuesday.
