Je’Von Evans: I Look At Myself As A Normal Person That Is Good At Wrestling

Je’Von Evans is one of the brightest young stars in the sport, already finding success in NXT and now competing on the WWE main roster at the age of 21.

Despite being well on his way to superstar, Evans doesn’t see himself as a pro wrestler.

“I feel like there have been a couple who can match what I do in the ring, but I feel I’m different because I don’t look at myself as a professional wrestler,” Evans said on Unsportsmanlike when asked if anyone can match his athleticism in the ring. “I just look at myself as a normal person that is good at wrestling and is signed to the biggest and best wrestling company in the world. I feel like that’s what makes me stand out. When it’s time to not do the flips, I don’t have to do the flips. We can just throw hands.”

Asked why he doesn’t view himself as a pro wrestler given his abilities, Je’Von said, “I feel like everybody looks at themselves as a professional wrestler and carries themselves as a professional wrestler. With that can sometimes come with ego and you carry yourself in a different way. I feel like, if I carry myself as a normal person, it keeps me more humble and reminds me where I came from and to not forget about the people who helped me get to this point. That keeps me grounded.”

Evans will compete in a six-man ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42.
