Je’Von Evans Uses nWo Wolfpac Theme For Social Media Post: “I’m Sorry For Being The Best In Da Game Right Now!!”
Je’Von is headed to the Chamber.
Taking to his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his thoughts about Monday Night Raw talent Je’Von Evans. He spoke about Evans’ presentation and in-ring style, and one of the comments he made was that Evans should be more ‘urban.’ He added that Evans is too much like ‘Mr. Bonjangles’ for Nash’s liking.
Mr. Bonjangles, real name Bill Robinson, was a Black man who was a tap dancer during the segregated eras of Jim Crow and the Great Depression in the United States of America. Robinson had to take on roles that played on racist stereotypes about Black people for him to be accepted and find success in the mainstream.
Nash went on issue an apology for his comments about Evans. He wrote the following in a now-deleted post:
How often have you heard the term Uncle Tom? Most likely, it was used in a degrading way. If you’ve actually read the literature, Uncle Tom was whipped to death for helping free two female slaves. I apologize for the use of the term Mr. Bogangles, it was in poor taste and obviously offensive. I just see talent being pushed in a direction that I disagree with. He should be the male version of Sol Ruca. More contemporary than urban. It’s funny how I’m usually the only person who pays attention to the development of black talent.
Je’Von Evans took to his Instagram page and wrote the following caption, which was accompanied by the nWo Wolfpac theme being the song that plays when the post is clicked on:
