Jim Cornette Goes On Rant Against David Arquette; Arquette Responds On Social Media

Jim Cornette could not stay silent.

To the surprise of no one, Jim Cornette had plenty to say about David Arquette's return to wrestling and his recent deathmatch against Nick Gage. For those that missed it, Arquette headlined Joey Janela's LA Confidential against Gage on Nov. 16. The bout garnered headlines not only for Arquette's involvement, but also for what happened at the end of the contest. Arquette's neck was sliced open by an errant light tube shot, leading to Arquette shooting on Gage in an effort to end the match. Arquette took responsibility for the incident and apologized for bringing negative attention to wrestling.

On a recent edition of the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the former manager and promoter launched into one of his famous tirades about the incident.

"David Arquette, still a big wrestling fan, wants to redeem himself. He's trying to take the heat off himself and show that he still respects the business," said Cornette. "There's a lot of nice people....you know a nice person who is also fucking stupid. David Arquette, from all accounts, is a nice guy. But he's gotta be stupid. Once again, these fucking low-class, outlaw, mud show promoters and marks are taking advantage of this guy being a 'celebrity.' So, David Arquette gets booked in a deathmatch with Nick Gage. This is the guy that was an outlaw combat zone hardcore garbage wrestler that robbed a bank without a mask on. Deathmatches are a style of wrestling like German shit porn are a style of cinema."

Cornette continued, "I'm sitting here watching these two dumb stupid motherfuckers cutting and slicing each other up. They're obviously poorly trained and using gimmicks that won't work with them. They are the geeks in the sideshow. The bank robber geek beats up the B-movie geek. It's not courage, it's stupid. If you don't want to be considered a geek, don't involve yourself in something like this."

Arquette heard the rant and responded on social media.

Never one to stay silent, Cornette offered more advice.

On the same podcast, Cornette also took aim at Marko Stunt, who suffered a leg injury in the co-main event of Joey Janela's LA Confidential.
