Jim Ross On Potential AJ Lee Return: It Never Hurts For The Business To Get Back Somebody That Was A Great Star

Jim Ross comments on the potential return of AJ Lee.

Fans are heavily anticipating this Friday’s episode of SmackDown, as CM Punk will appear on the show and will likely announce or bring out AJ Lee to join him in the fight against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

On the latest episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross noted that he was always a fan of Lee and her work in WWE.

“Yeah, I was a fan of her work. I thought she did a great job, she was always in good shape. She learned well.”

Ross continued on with his praise for the former Divas Champion, saying that he’s pulling for her to do well.

“It’s not a new star, but a star that has certainly built up anticipation for her return and she’s got [access] to that brain of CM Punk, which is a good thing. Any star that has name identity, and she has name identity. She’s a unique character, unique facial expressions. She’s athletic. I’m honestly a little bit surprised that she’s jumping back in the game, but not totally, I’m not shocked. It makes sense to me. I wish her well. Good girl, pleasant. I’m pulling for her, I hope she does a great job. It never hurts for the business to get back somebody that was a great star. We’ll see where it takes us, I’m pulling for her. Anything new and significant is a good thing for pro wrestling.”

Fightful will have full coverage of Friday’s SmackDown, beginning at 8 PM EST.
