Jim Ross enjoys the new version of Neville.
At WWE Roadblock, Neville showed up after Rich Swan's championship defense and attack Swan and TJ Perkins. Neville made it known he would be joining the crusierweight division. Formerly a fan favorite, Neville was soon aligned with The Brian Kendrick. His demeanor and attitude outside of the ring had changed but in a recent blog Jim Ross acknowledged a difference in the ring.
"Good to see Neville perhaps tweaking his in ring style so as to not continue to work totally as a fan favorite when he's being cast to be a villain. The WWE Cruiserweight scene is a work in progress division that is going to take getting one hot rivalry relevant to get people talking," wrote Ross.
The new cruiserweight division has had three champions since September. Besides the former champs, WWE has also featured Neville, Jack Gallagher, Cedric Alexander and Noam Dar on WWE television. Ross argued everyone can not be at the top of the division right now.
"The entire roster can not 'get over' during this division's infancy in WWE. 2-4 select Cruiserweights need to be anointed and ran with," wrote Ross.
He declared himself the "King" of the cruiserweights. He also said he was upset by being overlooked when the Cruiserweight Classic happened earlier this year. Neville defeated the WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann in a non-title match Tuesday on 205 Live.
In his blog, Ross would also mention Monday's episode of Raw and continued talks of fans booing and cheering unpredictably.
