Jim Ross On Braun Strowman: "WWE Is On The Trail Of Building A Significant Star"

Jim Ross enjoyed the ending to Monday's episode of Raw.

The main event of Raw was Big Show versus Braun Strowman, which ended when a superplex by Strowman collapsed the ring. The two had feuded before Wrestlemania 33 and Strowman eliminated Big Show from the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. On Monday, Strowman told Raw General Manager Kurt Angle he wanted "real competition." He attacked some other wrestlers backstage which led to Big Show stepping in to stop him, prompting the main event. In his blog from Tuesday, Ross talked about the match.

"It was a stellar night for the on going talent development of Braun Strowman and his show ending presentation with The Big Show was memorable. I was impressed by how hard the two super heavyweights worked and the live audience seemed to enjoy the imploding ring stunt," wrote Ross.

In the past, Ross has blogged about Strowman's build. On Tuesday, Ross wrote about how Strowman will benefit from his match with Big Show.

"Strowman is being positioned so strongly that it could be challenging for some defiant, younger males to get behind Strowman as a villain. What's not to like about a big, bad man who kicks everyone's ass and who has showed little if any 'fear.' I think WWE is on the trail of building a significant star with their positioning of Strowman," wrote Ross.

He also said if only one thing can be taken from Raw this week, it is the advancement of Strowman's build. Also in the blog, Ross mentioned Jeff Hardy and Cesaro's match, calling Cesaro a "freak of nature."
