Jim Ross grades AEW for the first five years.
Jim Ross has been with AEW since its first show, AEW Double or Nothing 2019. Ross has worn multiple hats during his time in AEW, helping out as a senior advisor and doing play-by-play on AEW Dynamite. Ross now calls the main event on PPV shows for the company.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Ross was asked to give AEW a grade in its first five years as a company.
"Probably a solid B. A lot of things that can be improved upon, like anybody else's company. AEW's challenge right now, to me, is creating new stars. Somebody on the brand has got to get hot. That's going to be what they need now. Somebody has to get hot. I'm not going to go into all the reasons why somebody is not and all that, all that dirtsheet stuff. We just have to get somebody hot. These pay-per-views like this Sunday night in Vegas, these kids rise to the occasion on these pay-per-views. They really do. I was concerned about going to work for a start up because I had done that before. I'm really glad that I did," he said.
Elsewhere during the interview, Ross commented on possibly working with Jerry Lawler again. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
