Jim Ross: I Think It’s WWE Or Nothing For Chris Jericho

There has been much speculation around the status of Chris Jericho, and that’s something Conrad Thompson and Jim Ross discussed on the latest episode of Grillin JR.

“I think it’s WWE or nothing for Jericho,” Ross said. “He seems to be happy, he’s got a lot of influence in AEW. Basically, to simplify it, he books his own angles. He works with the creative guys and they communicate well. Chris don’t come empty handed, he always has a plan but I think his goal, if it is to leave AEW, where I’m under the impression he has a great deal, then I think it’s WWE or he’ll stay where he is.”

Ross continued, “I hope he doesn’t leave. He’s a valuable member of AEW. He does a lot of things that people will never see as far as helping talent, counselling talent, coming up with ideas and so forth. I think Tony Khan needs guys like Chris Jericho around to contribute ideas.”

Shortly after making those comments, the legendary voice of pro wrestling later said Jericho leaving AEW would “hurt the brand to a degree.” For what it’s worth, Jericho hasn’t wrestled for the company since April when he lost the ROH Championship to Bandido. He was rumored to make his WWE return on the January 5 episode of RAW, but that proved not to be the case.
