Jim Ross: Vince McMahon Loved To Be The Fastest Guy On The Highway

Vince McMahon was involved in a car accident on Thursday, July 24.

According to the police summary of the incident, a 2024 Bentley Continental GT driven by McMahon collided with the rear of a 2023 BMW 430. Barabara Dolan, who was driving the BMW, posted that she was “Lucky to have survived.”

After details of the accident were made public, Jim Cornette posted, “The long list of people who would refuse to ride with Vince driving included me and Jim Ross, who told him ‘I love my children and want to see them again.’”

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross was asked about Cornette’s comments.

“I vaguely remember that dialogue. I rode with him a lot because Patterson, Bruce, whoever else was in the entourage at the time, he tapped them out. It was challenging because he never turned it off. It was always about business and what’s next. It got boresome. Plus, he drove recklessly. He loved speed. I was with him when he got stopped by the Ohio State police because he was driving too fast. At some point in time, I got to thinking, ‘Maybe I need to change ways of passage. These speeds are uncomfortable.’ We’re not in any hurry. The show is over. We don’t do another show until tomorrow night or next week. It was a speed race. He loved speed. He loved to be the fastest guy on highway. I didn’t know he had a wreck,” said Ross.

Vince McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons for violating two Connecticut General Statutes: 14-222 (Reckless Driving) and 14-240(b) (Following Too Closely Resulting in an Accident). He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on August 26, 2025.
