Jim Ross Wants To Be Part Of AEW Collision, Even If It Will 'Kill' His Football On Saturdays

Jim Ross wants to be part of the broadcast team for AEW Rampage, even if it will compromise his football-watching habits.

Ross was the voice of WWE Raw and WWE pay-per-views for many years, and he signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019. Since he joined the company, he has been on commentary for AEW Dynamite, AEW Rampage, and AEW pay-per-views at different points. These days, he is part of the broadcast team for AEW Rampage, and he calls some matches on AEW pay-per-views. On May 17, Warner Brothers Discovery confirmed that AEW is getting another TV show, as AEW Collision will premiere on Saturday, June 17.

Speaking on Grilling JR, the legendary commentator was asked to share his thoughts on the announcement. He noted that he doesn't know much about the show, as a lot of the details have been kept close to the vest. Ross expressed his belief that fans will tune in on Saturday nights if they're given a reason to. He then stated that he wants to be on the broadcast team, even if it will impact his ability to watch college football live.

"I don’t know a lot about the show. I don’t know who’s the broadcast team is. It’s all been kind of kept close to the vest, shall we say. Saturday night’s a challenging night for television. It just is. Doesn’t mean people don’t watch TV on Saturday, they do, and I believe that they will if there’s a reason. I don’t know what the roster’s gonna look like. We’ll see what happens. But I’m excited to find out who’s gonna be… I hope to broadcast that show, even though it’ll kill my football on Saturday nights. So we’ll figure that out. That’s not a big deal. That’s the great thing about streaming and all those things. I can watch my ball game, I just may not be able to watch it live," Ross said.
