Jimmy Jacobs Shares A Lesson He Learned Early In His Career While Working As An Extra For WWE

Eighteen years later and one lesson still sticks with Jimmy Jacobs.

Jacobs, the head writer and producer for IMPACT Wrestling, recently joined Sami Callihan on his Callihan Uncensored podcast, where he discussed everything from his current role to his time working with Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

Jacobs shared that as a producer for IMPACT he is not looking for talent to get their pre-tapes done on the first take, but rather that they get one great take. He revealed that he learned this lesson by watching Paul Heyman and Stephanie McMahon.

"Yeah, I learned that lesson when I was like 21. I was doing extra work for WWE. I was a security guard in this backstage scene with Paul Heyman and Stephen McMahon, who are two amazing talkers. Paul's one the best of all time. They did one and they walked it back. Then they did it again, and they walked it back, and they did it again, and they did so many takes until they got it exactly how they want to do it. I go, 'Oh, if it's good enough for Paul Heyman to do eight takes of a pre-tape, it's good enough for me. So, that has stuck with me," Jacobs said.

During another recent interview, Jacobs shared where the idea for The List of Jericho stemmed from. Click here for the details.
