Jacobs wishes he could have contributed more than he did.
After joining All Elite Wrestling in the summer of 2023, Jimmy Jacobs parted ways with the company in October 2024. He had a backstage role and would sit in on creative and production meetings.
In past media appearances during which he addressed his time in AEW, Jacobs clarified that his role had to do with 'admin work' rather than writing stories.
A new interview with Jacobs was recorded for Café De René, and he expressed that he wishes he could have contributed more to AEW. Jacobs feels he was not at his best and did not give Tony Khan his everything.
“At AEW, I don’t think I was valuable to my potential. I wasn’t contributing like I would have liked to contribute to AEW. People were critical of me being at AEW. They thought that I had some sort of hand in it that I actually didn’t have. I wish I had. I wish I had been more creatively -- gave more creative input. I just didn’t and I’m like, ‘Well, do I not have this in me anymore?’ I wasn’t at my best at AEW. I don’t feel like I gave Tony (Khan) everything I could…”
Jacobs is working with Scott D'Amore in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. In this interview, Jacobs said he'd be open to getting back in the mix of roles he's previously held in wrestling, but does not want to dedicate his entire life to it anymore.
