Jimmy Uso Returns On Throwback Edition Of WWE SmackDown

Jimmy Uso is back on WWE TV.

The May 7 Throwback Edition of SmackDown was kicked off with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman eulogizing the career of Daniel Bryan. The Universal Champion defeated Bryan last week, barring him from returning to the blue brand.

Roman said that Bryan could have stayed if he was willing to acknowledge him, but alas, he refused. As a result, The Tribal Chief said he would be replaced with someone who would be willing to do so. Jimmy Uso then came out, returning after being out of action for an entire year due to a knee injury.

Jimmy last wrestled at WrestleMania 36, competing in a triple threat ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. He did make an appearance at Clash of Champions when he threw in the towel for his brother in his bout against Roman Reigns.

After Jimmy reunited with his family, Cesaro came out and said that no one can replace Daniel Bryan. Teddy Long then made a surprise appearance and said that if Cesaro can win his upcoming match with Seth Rollins, he will be granted a Universal Championship match versus Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash.

It was recently reported that Daniel Bryan's WWE contract expired following his loss to Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Learn more here.
