Joaquin Wilde was sidelined with a broken eye socket for six months in 2019. He returned in December 2019 at an NXT live event and returning to television on 205 Live.
Upon his return, Wilde debuted new gear, which was an excruciating process according to his latest tweet.
I should have documented the entire process of creating a new look for myself in @WWENXT. There was so much drama, money wasted and hard lessons learned. It took 8 MONTHS of fine tuning to achieve this vision, but it was all worth it! Very happy with the end result. pic.twitter.com/lZnUEbMSFm— Joaquin Wilde (@joaquinwilde_) January 30, 2020
Wilde competed in the NXT Breakout Tournament in June, losing to Angel Garza in the first round. After defeating James Tapia in his television return on 205 Live in December, he would go on to lose to Austin Theory and Finn Balor in short matches on NXT. He defeated Chase Parker in a dark match on Wednesday's NXT.
Wilde is the former DJ Z, a two-time TNA X Division Champion.
