Many pro wrestlers have stories of when they wrestled when they were younger and when the ‘Don’t Try This At Home’ label was seen as a suggestion to them rather than a rule. For Joe Coffey, he recalls wrestling with his brother from a young age.
When asked on In The Weeds’ recent 24 hours charity stream, Joe Coffey would speak about the scraps he and his brother Mark would get into as kids.
“Do you know what? As we grew up, we just thought, well, it’s best we don’t fight because it’d be like Peter Griffin and the Chicken. It would just be constant, everyday stuff. But I remember when we were younger, we did break a few beds. I remember in my parents’ house, I raised our bed, Mark on my mum and dad’s bed, and it just went. (crash noise) and we were having, I think, like… a hardcore street fight match and one of us went through a wall so I think we were always destined to be pro wrestlers.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Joe spoke about a boxing match he had canceled due to WWE not granting him permission. You can read more about that here.
