Joel Embiid has become more mild-mannered on social media and the court this season, but he still has some theatrics to his game.
In a game against the Detroit Pistons last year, Embiid hit an opponent with a crotch chop as he was on the ground after being put on a poster. Embiid has also down the crotch chop after drawing an and-one foul on an opponent.
Speaking to Zach Lowe on the Lowe Post Podcast, Embiid was asked about his love of telling opponents to "suck it" after humiliating them.
"Triple H and Shawn, especially Triple H -- my favorite wrestler -- we go back to the DX days. That's where I got it from," he said.
Embiid has been fined for flipping off opponents, in what could amount to a tribute to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but hasn't been fined for his shouts to D-Generation X.
Embiid is one of the favorites to win 2020-21 NBA MVP as the Philadelphia 76ers sit atop the Eastern Conference.
