John Cena Is Confused By Fans Who Want Him To Turn Heel

Many in the WWE Universe want John Cena to finally turn heel after years of playing Super Cena. But if you ask Cena, a heel turn may make things even more confusing.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Cena discussed playing the villain in his new movie Bumblebee. Meyers mentioned that Cena comes from a world of heroes and villains, so the film world is nothing new to him. That's when Cena explained that he plays a hero in WWE, but fans want him to be a villain.

"It's weird with me because I'm supposed to be the hero, but I'm actually the heel," said Cena. "Everybody's like, 'Why don't you turn bad so you can be cool again.' Wouldn't that make me good? I don't even know. They think I'm supposed to be a bad guy to be a good guy, but aren't I already being a bad guy?"

Cena has been off WWE television for most the year due to his filming schedule. He last appeared at WWE Super Show-Down in October, debuting a new haircut that had the internet buzzed. Cena is scheduled to return to the ring on Dec. 26 at the Madison Square Garden live event.
