John Cena Posts Symbolic Image After Final Match

After winning the “Last Time Is Now” tournament, Gunther had the honor of facing John Cena in his retirement match. Fans sold out the Capital One Arena for a Saturday Night’s Main Event that no one will be forgetting anytime soon.

Ultimately, Gunther proved to be too much to the 17-time WWE Champion. Cena was forced to tap out, and he did so with a smile on his face. His lengthy career had finally caught up to him as he was forced to submit to someone who’s been a champion for the majority of his WWE career.

Fans were left speechless when the bell rang. Gunther had his moment, but the locker room emptied as the likes of Triple H, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, among many others filled the ringside area. Cena was shown an emotional tribute video before he left his shoes, armbands, and headband in the ring.

Cena doesn’t usually say much on social media as he lets his images do the talking. That proved to be the case the day after SNME as he posted an image of those items laying in the center of the ring. John Cena’s career is over as we know it, and the legendary performer will no longer be competing in the squared circle.
