John Cena Retains Undisputed WWE Championship Against Randy Orton At WWE Backlash

John Cena is still the Last Real World Champion.

John Cena retained the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE Backlash, defeating Randy Orton in the main event.

The finish saw R-Truth run in to prevent Orton from hitting the punt kick on Cena. Orton delivered an RKO to Truth, but Cena took advantage by hitting a low blow on Orton. Cena followed up by hitting Orton with the Undisputed WWE Title, knocking Orton out and pinning him.

The bout featured multiple ref bumps, includng referee Chad Patton getting knocked into the steel steps on the outside and the replacement official getting hit with the Undisputed WWE Title. On the outside, Orton delivered to AAs to Cena, first putting him through the announce table and then through a normal table.

Officials, including Nick Aldis, ran down and he ate an RKO for his troubles. Orton also hit an RKO on producers, including Hurricane Helms and Jamie Noble.

Orton delivered multiple RKOs and Cena connected with multiple AAs in the match.

This was Cena's first successful title defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship. He won the title from Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 41 Sunday.

This was the first John Cena vs. Randy Orton singles match since 2017. If this was the final Cena vs. Orton match, Cena won the series 14-7-2
