John Cena Says The End Of The SAG-AFTRA Strike Would Take Him Away From WWE

John Cena clarifies that the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike would take him away from the squared circle.

John Cena has been on an unexpected run in WWE, regularly appearing on episodes of Friday Night SmackDown. At this stage in his career, Cena has been very transparent about the end of his career in WWE being on the horizon.

Appearing at a press conference following WWE Fastlane 2023, Cena clarified the end of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. He revealed that he was working on a project that the strike halted and stated that should the strike come to an end, it would be the end of his time in WWE for now as he would have to go back to Hollywood.

"They do. I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance. If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me. Yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it -- I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike, but we’re in the middle of it. As soon as we get back to work, we go back to work. I don’t control any of that. I’m crossing my fingers and I hope we can find a resolve everyone is happy with. For right now, I feel this is the best way I can help. To come back home to my family," he said.

At WWE Fastlane, John Cena and LA Knight defeated The Bloodline. This is John Cena's first win on pay-per-view since WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018.
