John Cena: The Rock Doesn’t Have My Soul

Does The Rock have the soul of John Cena?

According to Cena, the answer is no.

Ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber 2025, The Rock wanted the soul of Cody Rhodes, who was the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion at the time. Rhodes told Rock to go fuck himself. While Rhodes did not sell his soul, Cena did align himself with Rock, turning on Rhodes.

Speaking at Fan Expo, Cena clarified he has not sold his soul to Rock.

“Is there a soul for sale? No, no. I just wanted to win a championship. The Rock does not have my soul. I don’t think he ever got Cody’s. I just want to make things clear. We did not have a soul deal, DJ and I. We have a good relationship. I don’t need to also give him my soul,” he said.

John Cena would go on to win the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 41. The Rock has not been back on WWE TV since Elimination Chamber 2025.
