Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Return To WWE NXT, Use Old Theme
DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) returned to NXT on the September 2nd episode, bringing back their old theme and merchandise.
DIY interrupted TNA Champion Trick Williams, who said that past NXT stars didn’t care about NXT, and he didn’t blame them because he’s not going to care about NXT either when he’s on the main roster.
Gargano said that they still care about NXT and today marked the ten-year anniversary of their NXT debut. Gargano and Ciampa ran down their accolades, which included Gargano being the first-ever NXT triple crown winner as NXT Champion, NXT North American Champion, and NXT Tag Team Champion. They did note that they never held the TNA Championship.

Gargano said that a lot of great superstars have been part of NXT and it didn’t matter whether you were a demon or a hugger or if you were undisputed or glorious, they all loved NXT.
Trick said that DIY was great, but he is still the greatest NXT superstar of all time. DIY didn’t want to talk about it anymore, taking out Trick with Meet In The Middle.
DIY were two of the faces of the Black & Gold era of NXT, winning multiple championships together and separately. Gargano finished his NXT run in 2021, but returned for two matches in 2023. Ciampa finished his NXT run in 2022.
