Johnny Gargano To Face Austin Theory At EVOLVE 120

Johnny Gargano is back in EVOLVE and he's going right after the top guy in the company.

EVOLVE announced that Gargano will face World Champion Austin Theory at EVOLVE 120 on Jan. 19 in Woodside, New York. The bout will be a non-title affair.

Gargano is still without an opponent for EVOLVE 119, which takes place on Jan. 18 in Brooklyn. 

On Dec. 15 it was announced that Gargano would return to EVOLVE for the first time since 2016. Gargano is a former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion (with Drew Galloway) and worked for the company from their first event in 2010 to 2016, when he signed with WWE/NXT. In his last bout for the company, Gargano teamed with Cody Rhodes to defeat Galloway (known in WWE as Drew McIntyre) and Chris Hero (known in NXT as Kassius Ohno).

Theory won the EVOLVE World Title at EVOLVE 117, defeating Fabian Aichner and Roderick Strong in a triple threat bout

Also announced for EVOLVE 119 and 120 are EVOLVE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits, WWN Champion JD Drake, Anthony Henry, Darby Allin, AR Fox with Ayla & The Skulk, Eddie Kingston, Josh Briggs, Joe Gacy, BSHP KNG, Curt Stallion and Priscilla Kelly.
